Bulk Pick-Up Recycling Services
Air Cycle Corporation offers recycling services and transportation throughout the United States to assist facilities in properly recycling lamps, ballasts, batteries, and electronics
The lamps are processed at permitted recycling facilities throughout the United States. Equipment, such as the MRT Compact Crush and Separation Plant, is used for the recycling of all types and sizes of discarded fluorescent lamps (intact or crushed). These systems separate the lamps into lime soda glass, aluminum end caps, lead glass/ferro metal components and phosphor powder. The phosphor powder is then retorted to capture the mercury.
Air Cycle also offers a ballast-recycling program. PCB, non-PCB, and DEHP lighting ballast can all be recycled. Metal components from the ballast, such as copper and steel, are collected for recovery and reuse. The PCB-containing capacitors and any PCB-contaminated potting material are thermally destroyed at a permitted facility.
Batteries and electronic waste can also be recycled. All processing is completed under Environmental Protection Agency operating guidelines and a certificate of recycling is provided. The computer hardware (also known as “e-waste”) is disassembled to recover components such as lead, mercury, copper, gold, silver, and platinum.
Air Cycle offers the following recycling services:
Intact Lamp Recycling All mercury-containing lamps are subject to regulation under EPA regulations. Based on the need to comply with both Federal and State regulations, Air Cycle offers a recycling program for spent bulbs. For facilities interested in boxing their spent lamps Air Cycle offers to pick up those lamps nationwide.
Crushed Lamp Recycling Since managing spent lamps intact and packaging the lamps in boxes can be labor intensive and space consuming, many of our customers choose to safely crush their bulbs into containers with our machines. Machines can be purchased or leased. This process minimizes handling and dramatically reduces storage needs. Since the lamps are pre-crushed, Air Cycle is able to provide some of the lowest prices for recycling in the industry. The majority of our customers choose to crush their bulbs prior to recycling.
Ballast Recycling Ballasts are regulated under the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) and Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA). Facilities disposing of ballasts containing PCB's and other toxic componenets must have their ballasts disposed of by a permitted facility. Companies that illegally dispose of their ballasts in dumpsters or landfills are liable for superfund clean-up costs. Air Cycle provides a safe, efficient ballast recycling program enabling facilities to not only protect the environment, but also enjoy great disposal prices!
Battery Recycling Batteries are a waste that can be recycled for further use. Due to the "Mercury-Containing and Rechargeable Battery Management Act of 1996", batteries should be recycled to avoid the long term damage caused by landfill disposal. The environmental risk of land filling batteries has led to regulation. Air Cycle provides a safe solution for facilities nationwide. Have your batteries recycled to eliminate your facility's future liability!
Electronics Recycling A Cathode Ray Tubes is the glass or "screen" portion of televisions and computer monitors. As of 1992, the Federal Environmental Protection Agency has banned the land filling of CRT's. Enforcement of proper disposal has been increasingly tight across the country. Air Cycle Corporation offers to help eliminate your liability by offering a nationwide recycling program for your CRT's and other computer hardware.
